ScriptPro’s Brian Glaves Talks Shop about Grocery Pharmacy with Grocery Headquarters
In a recent Grocery Headquarters article, Brian Glaves, Director of Sales at ScriptPro, noted that pharmacy automation helps control labor costs, while ramping up prescription safety and accuracy.
According to Brian, supermarkets must maximize their pharmacy operations in the face of declining prescription reimbursements. Their goal is to make the most of their highest priced hourly employee, the Pharmacist.
Grocery stores want their highest paid employee out in front working with, and helping customers instead of behind the counter filling prescriptions. This face time can create a loyal customer.
Technology to Increase Profitability
As far as increasing profitability, Brian notes,
“We have regional supermarkets that have seen an 80 basis point drop in labor costs in their stores that utilize ScriptPro robots. These stores also see an increase in sales behind the counter and in the higher margin OTCs and vitamin/health foods in front of the counter.”
