ScriptPro EHR Interface Package

ScriptPro’s EHR Interface Package and EHR Interface Package Add-On simplify the task of purchasing interfaces needed to enhance individual pharmacy and enterprise operations, as well as offer considerable savings via a package discount.

The EHR Interface Package uses interface messaging standards to send and receive Electronic Health Record (EHR) messages that update data in both SP Central Pharmacy Management System and your organization’s EHR system. SP Central receives inbound HL7/XML messages that update key patient, prescriber, and order data and sends outbound HL7/XML order status messages to the EHR system. Surescripts inbound e-prescription messages are processed in XML format.

EHR Interface Package is comprised of the following five interfaces:

Patient/ADT Interface: Patient records are automatically updated in SP Central Pharmacy Management System when a new record is added or an existing record is modified in the EHR system. Key updates for patient records include patient ID, address, contact, third party provider, and allergy information. The Patient Interface is strictly inbound, meaning record updates are controlled by authorized personnel working in the EHR system.

Prescriber Interface: Prescriber records are automatically updated in SP Central Pharmacy Management System when a new record is added or an existing record is modified in the EHR system. Key updates include license, address, and contact information. The Prescriber Interface is also strictly inbound.

Orders Interface: Prescriptions are electronically received by SP Central Pharmacy Management System immediately following physician order entry in the EHR system. Patient, prescriber, instructions, written drug, quantity, and refills available are pre-populated for the operator.

Orders Status Interface: Order messages, such as Verified or Cancelled/ Returned to Stock and refilled prescriptions, are sent from SP Central Pharmacy Management System back to the EHR system. By having access to this data, prescribers can better manage patient prescription therapy.

Surescripts Interface: Allows SP Central Pharmacy Management System to receive electronic prescriptions from physicians using the Surescripts e-prescribing platform. Additionally, the Surescripts Interface is EPCS certified, allowing your pharmacy to receive electronic prescriptions for CII-CV medications.

EHR Interface Package Add-On

EHR Interface Package* works in conjunction with EHR Interface Package Add-On** to support adding Orders, Orders Status, and Surescripts Interfaces at additional pharmacy enterprise locations (SP Central Enterprise Server replicates patient and prescriber data across the enterprise so only one instance of the Patient/ADT and Prescriber Interface is generally needed; Orders, Orders Status, and Surescripts Interfaces are site-specific and required by each enterprise site).

*The included interfaces are fixed; a customer may elect to not use one of the given interfaces but may NOT substitute other standard interfaces. The interfaces bundled in the EHR Interface Package must be implemented at the same time. If a customer is not able to implement at the same time, the necessary Standard Interfaces may be purchased à la carte.
